How To Choose The Best Multivitamins For Optimal Health

November 26th, 2009

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

Even if you eat a balanced diet and exercise, you can get extra benefits by adding a quality multivitamin to your daily diet.

You see, good food like fruits, vegetables and lean meat just doesn’t contain the amounts of nutrients they once did.

Even before these foods reach your table, poor farming methods, which involves heavy use of chemicals, have robbed the soil of the vital nutrients that the plants need.

If the soil quality is poor, the food we grow will be devoid of the nutrients we need.

We only make matters worse by the time the food gets to our homes. The way we cook food seriously takes away from its nutritional value.

Therefore, consuming a good daily multivitamin is a great way to get more of the nutrients we need. Such a supplement can help strengthen our immune system, promote healthy eyes, hair and skin.

It can also provide antioxidants that fight free radical damage – a major cause of premature aging and illness.

However, finding the best multivitamins is easier said than done. With an abundance of such products on the market, it can be difficult to know whether you are choosing a one of great quality.

So, here is the criteria for choosing the best multivitamins which will ultimately prevent you from wasting money on worthless supplements:

1. They should contain natural and whole food-based, not additives and synthetic nutrients. The closer the nutrients in a supplement is to food, the better the body will absorb it.

The problem with many cheap formulation is that they are made up of synthetic material. Your body doesn’t recognize it as food and hence just pass it out as waste.

2. Should contain harmonious amount of vitamins and minerals. Many multivitamins have many vitamins in them but very few minerals, which is not good.

Probably worse is that other supplements go the opposite way. They contain too large an amount of certain nutrients which is also not good because it can lead to toxicity within the body.

3. Should be made by companies or doctors with a good reputation. The processing of the supplements should also be done under the highest quality control.

4. Should contain nutrients above the recommended daily allowance (RDA). The RDA is just a guide of the minimum amount of nutrients people should be getting on a daily basis.

You’ll find inferior brands only offering the RDA to consumers. But the best multi vitamins tend to give you more nutrients than just the minimum recommendation.

You’ll find that if you follow the above-mentioned advice, you’ll be eliminating the majority of vitamins sold in drugstores or in stores like Walmart.

Why? – because many of those products are poorly formulated which is probably why they are so cheap.

Did you know that the vast majority of vitamins in America are produced by only two companies. This is why these supplements are so similar from store to store.

If you want to get into the health business, just approach one of these companies and put your name on the label. The label would be the only thing that will distinguish your product from someonelse’s.

If you are serious about your health, you’ve got to seek out well-formulated multivitamins that will actually do your body some good. And such a product my friend, usually won’t be found in a drugstore.

For the best insurance against illness and premature aging take the best multivitamin

Why Organic Vitamins Are the Solution to Obesity and Help us Live Happier, Healthier, And Longer Lives

October 25th, 2009

Often, when we feel run down or just don’t have the energy to feel like doing something productive, it is common place nowadays to go for the most convenient food available to satisfy those cravings. Sound familiar? The problem here isn’t that the body doesn’t have enough food, although you feel hungry. Instead, often your body is telling you that it is lacking nutrition, which most convenience foods do not have. The solution is to get that nutrition through supplementation, particularly with Organic Vitamins because they are the purest form of concentrates from a variety of essential nutrients. The fact of the matter is that most of the food we eat today is processed, and as a result it is stripped of all the pure organic vitamins and minerals that it once had.

Turning to organic vitamins have also been shown to release natural energy stores within the body, which has been shown to help people stay active. As a result, of staying active and having the energy to maintain that activity, many people begin to lose weight or tone their bodies as a beneficial side effect. There are some other non organic vitamins that also have a lot of potential. However, as a result of research with regard to how they are manufactured and processed, often the body will not utilize all the minerals and nutrients in those types of vitamins. The unused portion of those non organic vitamins is quite literally flushing money down the toilet, especially if they claim to be time released because when they are done releasing, it is in a part of the intestines that cannot utilize all the benefits. This fallacy leads people to believe they are getting all the benefits on the label, where in fact they are actually absorbing only a very small amount of the nutrients available in the vitamin.

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, not all organic vitamins are created equally. For example, there is a reason someone can spend the same amount on a bucket of vitamins and someone else can spend the same amoutn on a month’s supply. This is because, like with most things in life, you get exactly what you pay for. When most people talk about vitamins these days, they are typically referring to a multivitamin because they have the most benefits to the body. However, there are vitamins that contain nutrients which target specific parts of the body. For example, most sports nutrition organic vitamins are quickly absorbed by the blood and carried out to the joints or muscle fibers which allows for faster recovery and more energy to those parts of the body when it’s needed. Similarly, there are a lot of weight management organic vitamins that can affect different parts of the body, such as increasing the heart rate or preventing absorption into the stomach or digestive track for example. Whichever organic vitamin is right for your particular needs, it is important to realize that getting enough nutrition into your diet is critically important to live a long and happy life.

For a long time I put health and fitness on the back burner in my life for until a doctor’s visit made me realize I was severely shortening my life with bad eating habits. After trying several different things, I chose to go with organic vitamins. I found that they quite literally changed my life by giving me the energy I needed to turn things around for the better. If Healthy Practices Were Commodities Drinking Water would be Crude Oil

July 24th, 2009

Water is an essential part of any program to lose weight.  If you were to compare the importance of water to weight loss to the world’s commodities market, then water would definitely be crude oil.  In the world everything, much to Al Gore’s chagrin, is still for the most part powered on crude oil.  Cars, trains, motorcycles, power generators, all rely on crude oil refined in different ways to be powered.  When you are thinking about your new weight loss plan, you should consider water that versatile and important.

Why is water so important to your daily nutrition when you are trying to lose weight?  It is very important to drink enough water even when you aren’t losing weight.  The majority of Americans don’t drink enough water each day.  Without the proper amount of water the body doesn’t function at the highest levels.  The body will start to go into survival conservation mode.  You won’t have enough energy, it will use easier more efficient means of burn Water is an essential part of any program to lose weight.  If you were to compare the importance of water to weight loss to the world’s commodities market, then water would definitely be crude oil. ing energy, and it will store excess waste inside the body instead of sending it out of the body.  Drinking enough water when you aren’t trying to lose weight is important, drinking enough while you are trying to lose weight is essential.

Many dieting plans try to limit your intake of water.  This comes from the fear of carrying or adding too much water weight.  These programs work against your dieting effort.  Drinking water doesn’t cause you to retain the water in your body.  Other minerals and nutrients that your body intakes influence the amount of water your body stores.  Sodium is a good example of a mineral that causes your body to retain water.  Too much sodium will build up a reserve of water inside of your body.  When you are trying to lose weight you want to burn fat and replace it with muscle.  During the creation of muscle the body requires raised levels of water. If the body doesn’t have the higher levels of water,  then it will use the muscle as an easy energy supply.  Thus, not drinking water counteracts any progress that you are making on your weight loss goals.

Raising the amount of protein that you have in your diet is a very effective way of losing weight.  It helps your body have a supply of protein, which your body uses to create lean muscle.  It also cuts down on your appetite allowing your body to take in fewer calories of fats and carbohydrates.  An effective way of getting more protein into your system without additional fats or carbohydrates is to take a whey protein supplement.  Whey protein is easy to digest and the isolate mixtures are 90% pure protein.  It is easy to monitor your protein intake through the use of whey protein.

With the addition of protein into your diet, it is very important to increase the amount of water that you have in your system.  As explained above, when your body is creating muscle it needs more water.  Also your body is burning fat cells to get the energy to create the muscle.  When your body is breaking down fat cell, it creates waste that your body doesn’t use.  This waste is normally sent out of your body.  Yet, with high protein diets where people don’t drink sufficient water the body can’t move the waste items out of the body.  These waste items build up, and can actually be quite detrimental to your health.  A person that is on a high protein diet should be drinking at least one gallon of water each day.

Just remember that when you are trying to lose weight, different substances have different value to helping you lose weight.  Yet, there are few things that will be more productive to your health and effort in losing weight than drinking more water.

A Healthy Diet Program for Easy Fat Loss

May 20th, 2009

Let’s face it; there are literally thousands of fat loss programs in circulation, all with a different approach towards shedding fat. However, you need to bear in mind that the more complex a program is, the less chance you’ll have of succeeding. It’s only to be expected that if you can’t make any sense of a diet in the first place, you’ll soon become frustrated and throw in the towel. In fact, diets which focus primarily on explaining which foods are acceptable and which one aren’t, and how to deal with times when you have a relapse, are for the most part more successful than those diets that focus on calorie counting. Here are some great ideas for fat loss and how to stay motivated. 1 – Motivation: For the most part, becoming motivated for fat loss usually only occurs after you’ve had a negative experience with regards to your weight. The main problem however is, once you actually start on a fat loss program, your motivation will more often than not begin to diminish over time, and this is when you need to step in and take control. While all trainers know that the success of a diet rests largely on motivation, there’s no magical solution for staying motivated. Instead, you have to rely on your own willpower and the driving force within. Perhaps you could hang a picture of your current self on the wall so you can frequently remind yourself why you want to change your appearance. Another very helpful tactic is to involve others in your plan. By making yourself more accountable, you’ll often feel obligated to push on, even when your level of motivation drops. 2 – Water Consumption: Whether you’re interested in fat loss or not, everyone should drink plenty of water. However, if your goal is fat loss, this is of even more importance because interestingly enough, drinking eight glasses of ice cold water will result in 200 calories being burnt. Furthermore, by providing your body with an adequate amount of water, you’ll be ensuring your body doesn’t attempt to store water, which is the case when water intake is insufficient. 3 – Fiber: It’s a well documented fact that an increase in fiber can greatly increase the rate of fat loss. For those on a diet, fiber rich foods include oatmeal and whole grain. One should also consider eating whole grain cereals instead of regular cereals. 4 – Junk Food: Junk food does no good for anyone, particularly if your aim is fat loss. Rather than open a bag of chips when you feel like a snack, opt for some fresh fruit or nuts instead. Apart from junk food being a major cause of obesity, it also has the potential for causing damage to your digestive system. 5 – Exercise: No you don’t need to sweat blood at a boot camp in order to benefit from exercise. Instead, even a thirty minute walk will do you the world of good. Not only will walking benefit your fat loss efforts, but it also improves stamina. If you feel that walking may be too boring for you, then by all means get involved in other activities such yoga or dancing. In fact, musical aerobics has become immensely popular nowadays and it easy to see why, given the very noticeable results which are achievable. Remember, stay hydrated at all times and if your heart starts telling you to stop, then pay attention to it and stop. 6 – Forgiveness: Inevitably, you will on occasions wander off the path but rather than beat yourself up over it, simply acknowledge that this can and does happen. If it makes you feel better, just go ahead and work twice as hard tomorrow.
